Features

Principle

The principle used to measure textile hardness is based on measuring the resistance force of the penetration of a ball against the spool under a known spring load. The measuring principle is the same as the Shore A hardness testing.

 

Application

To measure the winding density (hardness) of textile bobbins, beams, spools, cones, dye packages etc.

Indenter ball 2.5mm is for closely wound bobbins of synthetic, finished fibers and filaments

Indenter ball 5mm is for loosely wound bobbins of synthetic fibers and closely wound natural fibers, yarns and threads

Indenter ball 10mm is for very loosely wound bobbins of thick yarns, such as carpet yarns
